Mina Taghizadeh

Mina Taghizadeh was born in Iran. She is a graduate of visual communication. Although she had a lot of experiences in drawing and painting with various materials such as oil paint and acrylic, painting on glass was her favorite field as its shining and transparent colors. She founded Kolbeh Shishei (glass cottage) Studio focusing on “painting on glass”, in 2012 and until now, more than 2.000 enthusiasts were taught by her.

Today after more than 11 years teaching, making decorative panels and participating in some interior design projects, Mina Taghizadeh invented a new fantastic and mesmerizing pathway in painting on glass named “glass sculptures”. Firstly, she started to sketch 2D. After that, by breaking the shapes, 3D designs were created. Lastly, modern and abstract forms were created by Plexiglas.

The subject of these sculptures made by Mina is folklore dance and music of some provinces in Iran. Despite this selected subject is inspired by Iranian arts, it can be hugely popular and have universal appeal.

Also, the paintings are on the subject of Iranian dance and music. All these works are simplified with traditional designs of Iranian carpets, rugs and tiles with minimal designs. The designs of all the works are freehand.

In my opinion, dance and music can connect different societies and cultures and also, create happiness, hope and empathy.

Mina has participated in the “World Art Dubai 2024” with 19 works, including 15 paintings and 4 sculptures.
